LOCAL PARENT AND ADVOCATE AMANDA DUMAS ANNOUNCES CAMPAIGN FOR HUNTERSVILLE TOWN BOARD
(Huntersville, NC) - Amanda Dumas announced today that she will be running for Huntersville Town Board of Commissioners. As a resident of Huntersville’s Cedarfield neighborhood, Amanda has grown her family here for over a decade.
“When we made Huntersville our home 11 years ago, our family was welcomed into a beautiful and active community bustling with activity while maintaining a small-town, family feel,” said Amanda. “Now I’m running for Town Board Commissioner because I want every single family to feel at home here in Huntersville. It’s time to give back to my community.”
Amanda has identified several key priorities for her campaign including developing a stronger partnership with CMS to deliver equal access to education for all Huntersville children; ensuring that commercial and residential development projects balance revenue growth with environmental, educational, and transportation concerns; and continuing to support and expand the Huntersville Vine greenway project to better connect communities, parks, and entertainment in a walkable and bikeable environment.
Additionally, Amanda has spent the last several years supporting organizations advocating on behalf of equal rights for the LGBTQIA+ community. Amanda wants to emphasize the inclusive nature of her campaign and her advocacy for Huntersville residents of all backgrounds and identities.
“This is about making Huntersville a place that truly feels like home to everyone who lives here,” Amanda explains. “I look forward to meeting and sharing ideas with you to make Huntersville an even better place to live, work and play.”
